Melissa Slawsky, NCTM, recently completed a Ph.D. in music education with an emphasis in piano pedagogy from the University of South Florida. During her doctoral studies, she engaged in a post-graduate fellowship in piano pedagogy at the New School for Music Study, the laboratory setting for the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy. She has served as adjunct professor of class piano and music theory at the University of Tampa and the International Academy of Design and Technology and has presented research at various conferences, including the 2010 GP3 Group Piano and Piano Pedagogy Forum, 2011 Florida Music Educators Association Clinic-Conference, and 2011 National Conference for Keyboard Pedagogy. She currently maintains a private studio in southern New Jersey, serves as accompanist for Friendship Community Church in Sicklerville, NJ, and is the Scheduling Coordinator for the Philadelphia International Music Festival.
